If only and Crazy

I wonder how life would have been if we were born in a world without any set rules or standards. I mean who really made this rule that you should go to prep school at the age of three. Why should values be fed to you? Why should you be 'moulded' into a good human being? Don't these rules restrict the growth of the person? Left all by ourselves wouldn't we have discovered and grown into the person that we were meant to be instead of being programmed to do things that are 'supposed' to be done. But on the flip side, we could also turn wild if we live our lives only by impulse. So, i guess the best way to live life would be to follow certain rules and disciplines without being too rigid about them and do cRAZY stuff!
Day in and day out we do the same things. Life becomes so mechanical when all we do is go to work, come back, eat, sleep, etc. Doing crazy things breaks the monotony in life. One needn't do big crazy things.Small crazy things are more than enough, when done regularly, to break the pattern. Running in between trees, sending random text messages to friends, skip-hopping the way back home, laughing without any apparent reason are a few small crazy things that you can try. Some of them might not even be considered as crazy, but they certainly do add spice to life. Be crazy!
P.S. And suggest more crazy stuff to do :)

Has it ever happened to you

Has it ever happened to you that you just wanted to tell something, you just want to blurt it out. But your intellect stops you, it wonders if it is the right thing to do or if it is stupid or weird. Then you find yourself fighting with yourself 'should i tell, should i not.' Sometimes, the urge gets the better of the intellect and you just blurt it out. The story does'nt end here. Now you feel bad that you've said it. Is'nt it weird the way the mind works. This has happened a million times with me and now after so much turmoil, i've come up with a solution.Whenever i'm bubbling to tell something i'll just go ahead and tell it. And after you've said it just don't think about it. You can't take it back anyway, so there is no use regretting. One of my good friend says that it is better to regret doing something than to regret not doing something :)

My First Love!!

Books and Music. They are my first love. You might wonder how one can have two first loves. To me both, Music and Books, are the same. Just like the Swaras ( notes) intertwine to create soothing music, that is honey to the ears, a string of words reveal or bring out a profound meaning.

Music has been a part of my life from when I got the ability to hear( my mother informed me that she used to go to concerts pretty often when she was pregnant.) Books, unfortunately, made a late entry . But I have no regrets. Better late than never! Let me tell you the story about my love for books. This journey officially began only after the Harry Potter series. Therefore, they remain an eternal favorite. It was the glamor of ' reading novels' that allured me into the habit but only as I indulged more and more did I become an addict. There was a time in my life when I gobbled down any book that came my way. But now I have become more refined and organized. One should be, because books have the ability to leave a lasting impression on oneself. Too much about myself right? Let me give you the symptoms of being 'bookish' :
  • There is a hunger for good books
  • The smell of paper makes you go 'aaaaaahhh' ( unfortunately, the smell of textbooks makes me go 'yuck')
  • The sight of the book you love makes you jump and brings a sparkle in your eye and you feel as if you have found your prince charming.
  • You keep quoting lines from your favorite book.
Thats it for now. More about Art of Living, music, books, laughter in my upcoming posts.

Rum-tum-tiddle-um-tum

I am sure most of you are wondering where i got this nonsensical title for my blog from. So, i want to begin by giving credit to the person who created this musical word( or whatever it is) -Mr.A.A.Milne ( The creator of the extremely adorable bear winnie-the-pooh.) For those of you who are not familiar with his work, I am adding one of his poems in this post. Hope u enjoy it.

Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie,
A fly can't bird, but a bird can fly.
Ask me a riddle and I reply
Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie.

Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie,
Why does a chicken? I don't know why.
Ask me a riddle and I reply
Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie.

Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie,
A fish can't whistle and neither can I.
Ask me a riddle and I reply
Cottleston Cottleston Cottleston Pie.
